Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast is looking to add a new member to its team.
This is a full-time position and perfect for someone who loves people and working to help families on the Sunshine Coast!
The right candidate will be able to work in a busy environment, smile under pressure and remain true to the vision of helping families on the Sunshine Coast.
The Communications, Events and Volunteer Engagement position will be a new and exciting experience and will require the following:
Working with and continuing to develop the HFHSC Communications plan which included all facets if the organization, Build, Families, ReStore, ReCycling, Volunteer, Fundraising
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the expectation of participating in speaking engagements
Proven experience with the promotion of programs and priorities.
Demonstrated experience with communications, media relations and public relations
Demonstrated experience with developing and effectively managing annual budgets.
Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with database management and word press website layout
Staying abreast of successful strategies in the industry and of other Habitat affiliates
Strong knowledge of federal and provincial legislation regarding charities
Flexibility and openness to varied work schedule (including some weekend and evening hours).
Developing event plans and budgets for each of HFHSC events throughout the year which includes events such as Golf Tournament, Gala Fundraiser, Annual General Meetings, Habitat Village Build Days, Key Ceremonies (and others)
Leading the implementation of all HFHSC events
Developing sponsor recruitment strategies for the events
Leading the sponsor procurement for all the events
Preparing the scripts for the speakers at the events
Be willing to make public presentations about and at the events
Developing volunteer recruitment strategies
Developing communications and recognition strategies for all volunteers
Leading the development of a contact data base of all volunteers for understanding their needs.

Required Education and Experience
· Communications and social media applications
· Event management experience
· Excellent writing and communication skills
· Understanding of marketing and communications strategies
· Flexibility to work Monday to Friday and some weekends and after hours
· History of working with volunteers
· Demonstrated knowledge of Habitat for Humanity
