If your family, or a family you know, is in need of decent, affordable housing, we may be able to help.
Habitat affiliates are independent, locally run, nonprofit organizations. Each affiliate coordinates all aspects of Habitat home building in its local area, including partner family selection. We would be happy to give you information on the availability, size, costs, “sweat equity” work requirements and application process for Habitat houses on the Sunshine Coast.
Every Habitat affiliate chooses its homeowners based on the same three criteria:
- the applicants’ level of need,
- their willingness to become partners in the program
- and their ability to repay the no-profit, no-interest loan.
Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing a Habitat family.

- Family Size and Total Family Income Guidelines
1 person $18,000. – $30,000
2 persons $21,000- $36,000
3 persons $24,000 – $41,000
4 persons $27,000 – $48,000
5 persons $30,000. – $54,000
6 persons $33,000 – $60,000 - Must be in need for improved or affordable housing.
- Willing to invest 500 volunteer hours to Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast.
- Maintain a steady income and have the ability to pay a Habitat mortgage at 0%.
