As a key member of our Sechelt Recycling Team, you will:
- be comfortable driving a 17-foot cube van with auto transmission (and have a valid license), approx. 10 kms round trip between Wilson Creek (Habitat ReStore) and Extra Foods.
- be prepared to commit 3 hours every Tuesday morning (7:00 am – 10:00 am approx.) AND/OR every Friday morning (same hours). Truck has to be picked up in Wilson Creek to be in Sechelt by 8 am.
- be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds (loading/unloading bags of cans and bottles)
- arrange for your replacement on days when you can’t be there (call backup members of the Recycling Driver Pool)
- enjoy the benefits of being part of an amazing team that knows how to have fun AND get the job done!
Ideally your own vehicle is a pickup truck or van – for light days when the cube van isn’t needed.
We also need driver(s) for weekly run to Sechelt Landfill to pick up returnable cans and bottles left for Habitat; usually on Monday any time during Landfill open hours. You must provide your own pickup truck or van.
